Wisconsin real estate licenses for brokers are issued by the
Wisconsin Department of Regulation
and Licensing (DRL). After completing the
required education and
passing the broker licensing exam, an applicant is required
to submit a license application to the DRL. The application must include proof of completed
education or credentials and proof the applicant passed the real
estate licensing exam.
All real estate licenses are issued or renewed for the
remainder of a two-year licensing period which ends on December
31 of each even-numbered year. Approval of an application will
include a review of criminal convictions or actions against any
other license held by the applicant and confirmation of the
completion of the appropriate education and exam requirements.
If you have questions as to how prior criminal convictions or
actions are factored into the licensing process, contact the
Wisconsin DRL.
