Q. What is RRS designation?
A. RRS: Recreation and Resort Specialists. The RRS designation speaks specifically and powerfully to the unique needs and practices of recreation and resort property sales and management. The Worldwide Recreation and Resort Sales Council has designed a series of exciting educational experiences that will sharpen your relationship and marketing skills and give you a “best practices” review of tactics and strategies that are succeeding all over the country. You will be among the first Wisconsin candidates for the designation, which will also admit you to a nationwide network of peer professionals and open up a world of increased referral opportunities.

Q. How can I earn the RRS designation?
A. The WRA's 2-day Recreation and Resort Specialists course will prepare real estate professionals to conduct business in the recreation and resort industry with skills in human relationships, marketing, contract negotiation, property merchandising, business management and personal promotion from the core curriculum. Additional courses will be offered to enhance these basic skills and improve the effectiveness and longevity of the professional’s practice. The initial (Pro Track) certification will require 16 hours of classroom work and documentation of productivity. You will:
  • Use and develop buyer profiles for each customer
  • Discover customer motivations, and to build the sales process around those motivations
  • Develop systems and techniques to find prospective buyers
  • Utilize the power of the Internet to give better service and sell more properties
  • Negotiate, communicate and develop profitable and effective business relationships with out-of-town buyers and sellers
  • Create successful marketing systems for recreation and resort properties
  • Give a logical and effective presentation to buyers and sellers either in person or through long distance
  • Effectively market properties using superior staging, pricing and target marketing techniques
