ZipForm Online - Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q. I already use ZipForm 5.0 for the desktop. Why would I want to use ZipForm Online?
A. ZipForm Online frees you from the confines of your desktop computer and allows you to experience the flexibility and mobility that only an online solution can offer. Don't have a laptop? Forgot your contracts at home? Working on a contract with someone on the other side of the state? These scenarios are no longer a problem with ZipForm Online because you can create and access transactions from multiple locations anytime, anywhere in the world via the Internet.
Q. I am not very technical; will ZipForm Online be hard to learn?
A. ZipForm Online is very easy to learn and there is online help also.
Q. I will be out of the office and won't have access to my computer. Is there any way I'll be able to access my transactions?
A. With ZipForm Online you are never out of reach of your transactions. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection. You could borrow a friend's computer, use a client's computer or use a computer at an Internet café to gain access to your transactions.
Q. With ZipForm Online, will I still require my ZipForm 5.0 for desktop software?
A. ZipForm Online has been designed to work independently as a standalone product for your real estate form needs, however, it does require an Internet connection. Transactions created with ZipForm Online can be easily copied from the Internet to your local computer and accessed with your ZipForm 5.0 desktop software. Conversely, transactions created in ZipForm 5.0 can also be seamlessly uploaded to the Internet and used with ZipForm Online. Using both of these together gives the user the ultimate in flexibility both online and offline.
Q. Will I need to download or install anything?
A. When logging in to ZipForm Online for the first time, you will be required to download and install a viewer (go to the ZipForm Product page for download instructions). This install is about 8MB. With broadband this download should only take a few minutes and with a 56K modem should take less than 30 minutes. 
Q. I am an office administrator with multiple users on a network. Will ZipForm Online work for me?
A. ZipForm Online works extremely well for users in a network environment. As this product is Internet based, network configuration issues that often cause problems when installing other software are virtually eliminated. In addition, ZipForm Online offers a sophisticated administrative interface that allows you to manage all of your users from a central point, anywhere that an Internet connection is available.
Q. How do I know that my forms are up to date?
A. With ZipForm Online, you can always be assured that you are working with the most up to date forms because forms are downloaded on demand.
Q. Can I e-mail transactions to my clients?
A. ZipForm Online utilizes web-based e-mail so that sending transactions to clients has never been easier. Simply click on the e-mail icon, fill in the recipient's e-mail address and hit send. Since the e-mail system is web-based there are none of the configuration problems that are seen with non-mapi compliant e-mail clients such as AOL.
Q. How can my clients view their transactions?
A. The e-mail that the client receives contains simple instructions on how to view the transaction. Also included is a link to our free viewer. This viewer program download is only 1.5 MB in size. With broadband the download will take seconds and with a 56K modem it should take less than 5 minutes.
Q. I don't want to take the time to download while I am at my client's computer. Is there anyway I can access ZipForm Online transactions without downloading anything?
A. Your ZipForm Online license allows you to create copies of the form viewer. You may burn this to a CD and carry it with you. If you need to access transactions on a computer other than your own, you may simply install the viewer off of the CD, log onto the ZipForm Online link at www.zipform.com and have access to your transactions.
Q. What are the system requirements to use ZipForm Online?
A. The system requirements for ZipForm Online are:
• IBM PC compatible Pentium II 300 or comparable
• MS Windows(r) 98, NT 4.0, 2000 or XP
• 128 megabytes (MB) of Random Access Memory (RAM)
• 20MB available hard disk space
• SVGA monitor and video card supporting a minimum 800 X 600 resolution and 256 colors
• Internet Explorer 5.5, or newer
• Any printer that can be configured with MS Windows print manager
• 56K modem with Internet access or broadband
NETWORK USERS NOTE: If sharing an Internet connection with multiple users a broadband connection is required. Please contact ZipForm for further information on your specific bandwidth needs.
Q. Do I require a broadband connection?
A. A 56K modem is sufficient.
Q. Can I use ZipForm Online without an Internet connection?
A. Due to its Internet-based design, ZipForm Online does require an Internet connection. However, when they are not connected to the Internet, users with ZipForm 5.0 for Desktop will be able to store their ZipForm Online transactions to their local computer's hard drive and access them with ZipForm 5.0. This allows the user complete flexibility. 
Q. Where are my transactions stored?
A. Your transactions are stored at a commercial-grade hosting facility. We have chosen a state-of-the-art hosting provider to ensure that you have secure and reliable access to ZipForm Online as well as your transaction data.
Q. How do I change my company information?
A. Once you have downloaded and installed ZipForm Online you can make company profile changes via the Administration area of the program. Please note that this will only change your ZipForm Online information. The changes will not be made with the WRA or local board. You must contact those entities.
