Welcome to the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association's Public Awareness
Campaign site.
Wisconsin continues to be one of the most stable real
estate markets in the Midwest. To educate consumers on the
Wisconsin real estate market, the WRA committed $150,000 in funds
to support NAR's public awareness campaign.
The focus of the campaign is to educate consumers that:
 |
Every real estate market is different. It's a mistake to
look at Wisconsin under the national microscope.
|
 |
The Wisconsin real estate market continues to be favorable
in terms of selection, pricing and interest rates.
|
 |
If consumers are still trying to decide whether now is
a good
time to buy or sell, talk to a local
REALTOR®. It’s free.

More Facts
New in 2008
For more than a decade, the Public Awareness Campaign
has been working on behalf of members to educate and persuade
consumers about the value of hiring a REALTOR®. In 2008, the
campaign will go even further, countering some of the recent
negative national media reports related to the housing market with
facts about the value of housing as a long-term investment and
helping local and state REALTOR® associations educate consumers
about actual conditions in their local real estate markets.
The 2008 campaign features two new
buyer-focused advertisements:
 |
"Building
Wealth“ emphasizes the importance of homeownership in
creating long-term wealth. Using data from respected
third-party sources, the materials demonstrate the effect that
homeownership has on household wealth. |
|
"Home
Values“ demonstrates the long-term value of housing as an
investment, sharing NAR housing data that shows home values
nearly double every 10 years.
|
Media Plan
The WRA campaign added 7,000 commercials on 70 radio
stations, 1,200 commercials on 15 TV stations and over 1,000,000
impressions online. Key marekts include Milwaukee, LaCrosse,
Wausau, Madison and Green Bay. The media buys air primarily during
AM local news broadcasts to penetrate local news and offer a
balanced perspective to negative national reportd.

Housing Facts Landing Page
The ads direct consumers to a new microsite on the WRA web site,
wra.org/housingfacts, which educates potential home buyers about
the value of homeownership, provides resources and research about
the current housing market and industry issues, and, of course,
helps buyers and sellers find a REALTOR®.
