WRA's Partnership for Success Program

Partnership Responsibilities

Broker
The partnership begins with you, the Broker, recruiting appropriate candidates. Your recruitment will be made easier when you have a valuable recruitment tool like this partnership award. This program provides an effective way for you to give back to your community and to enhance your business prospects in our increasingly diverse world.

The Broker's first job is to make sure that the fees for the candidate's Pre-licensing Education, books and salesperson's license fee are paid by the Broker, the candidate or other sources. The Broker must provide a recommendation of the candidate, and attend an interview with the WRA Equal Opportunity in Housing Committee where the Broker is asked to explain his or her new agent training and mentor program. Mentor Guidelines are available for any Broker looking to set up a mentor program within his or her company. If the candidate receives an award, the Broker must sign the Program's letter of understanding and help remind the award winner of his or her repayment obligation.

Award Recipient
If the candidate receives a Partnership for Success Program award, the WRA waives one year of WRA dues, the local association (if participating in the program) waives any initiation fee and one year of dues, and the WRA pays one year of NAR dues. The WRA also pays six months of MLS fees. In addition, the recipient may choose from a menu of different educational opportunities and start-up assistance features, up to a total value of $700. Any award recipient must pledge to repay these funds within three years. All repayments go directly back into the program fund and will be used to fund future candidates.

The award recipient must also obtain his or her salesperson's license, be willing to serve on the local Board/Association's Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Marketing Committee or a one-year term on the WRA Equal Opportunity in Housing Committee.
