John P. Horning

John is 2009-2010 Chairman of the Board-Elect of the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association.

John grew up in Brookfield and was involved in real estate at an early age. In grade school he would often walk to his father's office at Wauwatosa Realty to do small jobs. John attended Marquette University High School. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in accounting, he became a Certified Public Accountant.

John is a third-generation family member to operate Shorewest, REALTORS® based in Brookfield, Wisconsin. He joined Shorewest, REALTORS® full time in January 1993 as accounting manager. In 1996, he served as director of corporate operations and in December of 2002, John was appointed executive vice president.

John also coordinates community participation for the company in volunteer activities, blood drives, United Way, United Performing Arts Fund, and Casual Day fundraisers.

John is a past director of the Greater Milwaukee Association of REALTORS®, and has served on the WRA’s Board of Directors since 2002 and is a member of the WRA’s Executive Committee. John currently serves on the Political Strategy Group and on the Wisconsin Homeowners Alliance Board of Directors.

John and his wife Paula live in Pewaukee and are active parents of four children.
