Legal Services
- Toll-Free Legal Hotline
- Monthly Legal Update
- Weekly E-Mail Hottips

As a REALTOR®, your everyday business transactions are of a legal nature. Naturally, situations arise where you will need access to legal information to complete a transaction.

The WRA Legal and Public Affairs Department has a full-time legal staff available to you to answer your questions. That’s right — your dues allow you unlimited access to real estate attorneys. This alone is worth your entire dues fee.

The Legal Hotline provides REALTORS® with the opportunity to talk one-on-one with a WRA staff attorney. Simply call the Legal Hotline, submit a question, and a WRA attorney will call you back. It couldn’t be any easier. You can also fax, e-mail, or submit a question online to the Legal Hotline. But remember, this service is for members only!

Each week, the Legal and Public Affairs Department e-mails Legal Hottips to all designated REALTORS® and office managers with e-mail addresses. This document is comprised of legal hotline questions and answers from the previous week. Hottips is a very popular WRA product and is available online to all members in an easy-to-access library format.
The WRA’s Legal and Public Affairs Department keeps you informed on changes in real estate licensing, forms, professional standards, and other issues as they arise. Our legal team monitors the Department of Regulation and Licensing and lets you know what to expect before it happens.

Additionally, the Legal and Public Affairs Department publishes Legal Update, a highly coveted monthly publication that focuses on current legal issues in the real estate industry. This publication often includes line-by-line discussions on real estate forms and step-by-step instructions on how to deal with new industry and legal developments that you will use in your business as a real estate salesperson.

The WRA’s Legal and Public Affairs Department has created numerous resource pages on the WRA Web site. Visit www.wra.org/resourcepages to learn more about the laws and practices that impact your business. From contracts to environmental issues, no other source can match the level of information you can access from these pages.

The WRA Legal and Public Affairs Department provides you with the kind of service that would cost you thousands of dollars if you were to hire an attorney privately.
