WRA Webcast Takes Legal Hotline to the Next Level

Date:  June 4, 2007

MADISON, WI – Building on the success and growing popularity of the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association’s (WRA) exclusive Legal Hotline service, the WRA is pleased to announce plans to introduce a new webcast series called the Best of the Legal Hotline Live, premiering Thursday June 7. As the leading authority on real estate in Wisconsin, the WRA plans to deliver up to four Webcasts over the next year, covering legal issues facing real estate professionals.

“The WRA has been the definitive expert in Wisconsin real estate markets for nearly 100 years, representing the interests of homeowners, property owners and real estate professionals,” says WRA President Bill Malkasian. “And now we’re using the technology of the Internet to bring that knowledge and expertise to anyone and everyone interested in buying, selling and investing in real property in Wisconsin.”

The REALTORS®’ new webcast series will highlight key real estate issues specific to Wisconsin’s marketplace and provide viewers with valuable insights and answers to the most frequently asked questions. These questions and issues come directly from the WRA’s Legal Hotline program – a program through which, for over 15 years, association lawyers have provided answers to REALTOR® members regarding legal issues that arise in transactions across Wisconsin.

“Our expert lawyers field dozens of questions a day from real estate practitioners throughout Wisconsin – nearly 9,000 calls a year,“ says Malkasian. “So we know exactly what issues buyers, sellers and REALTORS® face each and every day. Our new webcast series will highlight these issues so that everyone in Wisconsin can benefit from that same unique legal expertise.”

The REALTORS®’ “Best of the Legal Hotline Live” webcast series will premier Thursday June 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. WRA General Counsel Kevin King will host the first webcast titled “Legal Challenges in a Changing Market.” Viewers will get the inside track on how to identify and handle short sales, foreclosure sales, sheriff’s sales, contract cancellations and more. Viewers can watch the program live or on-demand and participate in real-time Q&A at the end of the program. The live webcast will be archived online for 60 days. Registration is $9.95 for REALTORS® and $12.95 for the general public. To register or obtain additional information, visit the WRA Web site at www.wra.org/hotlinelive.
