Wisconsin REALTORS® Association Wins National Contest for Distance Learning Technology

MADISON, WI – The WRA has been awarded top online education feature from the National Association of REALTORS® for its new Distance Learning on Demand product. This innovative program allows REALTORS® to take their mandatory 12 hours of continuing education anytime, anywhere using a Web browser and broadband connection. Courses are held exclusively online. Students take coursework at their own pace, on their own schedule and without the hassle of travel.

“We are delighted to have won this award. Two years ago we knew we had to develop a solution that would allow students to meet their continuing education requirements without having to worry about travel or sales downtime,” says Rob Uhrina, VP of Marketing for the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association. “Typically, students take time out of their schedules to attend live courses during the day, interrupting their business and communications with clients. Having an online option gives them the flexibility to take education – on their own schedule – from any location where there is a Web browser and broadband connection available.”

The WRA has sold more than 4,500 units of its popular new program. Students enrolled in the program have an average passing rate over 90 percent. Distance Learning on Demand was developed internally and was tested by REALTORS® for REALTORS®. It offers groundbreaking features, many of which to date have not been offered in other products and services, including practice quiz modules with integrated scoring, topical indexing, online note taking tools, final exam administration, instant grading, certificate generation, and a tracking system allowing students to see their progress towards meeting the state mandated requirements.

The WRA’s program is a one-stop shop for real estate continuing education courses in Wisconsin. On demand courses are available for both residential and commercial sides of the business.

Given the cost of fuel, Distance Learning on Demand is an attractive solution. Continuing education courses start for as low as $27 for members and $30 for nonmembers.

Top Notch Content
Instructors for the WRA’s live program have over 40 years of combined experience in the classroom and are videotaped for the distance learning option as well. Unlike live courses, students can watch their coursework as many times as they wish to master skills and facilitate learning.

Excellent Passing Rate
The Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing requires students to pass an online exam to complete their requirements. To prepare students for the “big test,” practice quizzes are administered throughout the program to sharpen skills. As a result, WRA students enjoy an average passing rate of over 90 percent.
