Consumer Information

  • Credit Reports, Credit Scores And Insurance Scores
Consumers may obtain their credit reports, credit scores and insurance scores from national credit reporting agencies. Credit scores are based on an individual's credit report information and are used to predict whether you will make your payments on time. Insurance scores are also based upon the information in an individual's credit report and are used to predict the probability that you will make in insurance claim. These reports range in price from around $9.00 to around $15.00 per report (unless the consumer is entitled to a free copy of the credit report, e.g., the consumer was denied credit or experienced some other adverse action as a result of the credit report). When these items are ordered online with a credit card, the consumer generally will receive the report ordered immediately and this is by far the method preferred by these companies. Some of these companies will allow some reports and scores to be ordered by telephone or mail, which will take longer before you receive your information.
