Wisconsin Statute Chapter 452 Changes
On March 2, 2016, Gov. Walker signed into law the WRA’s top legislative priority regarding Wisconsin Statute Chapter 452, the statute that most significantly impacts your daily real estate practice. The governor’s signature created 2015 Wis. Act 258, which makes numerous changes to this statute. From the creation of an independent contractor safe harbor to modernizing independent practice by brokers, from reducing the statute of limitations of which real estate licensees can be sued to revising the agency disclosure language to be more consumer-friendly and updating terminology throughout to more accurately reflect the relationship between agent’s and firms, the changes have been voluminous.
