Whether you are new to commercial real estate, participate in investment real estate, or want to enhance your industry knowledge, this session is for you. Join this panel discussion for insights from commercial real estate experts who will discuss the state of the market, challenges facing commercial real estate practitioners, and the future of the industry. Panelists will also address the similarities and differences between commercial and residential real estate, focusing on how the two areas complement one another in a marketplace. Moderated by Tracy Johnson, President & CEO, Commercial Association of REALTORS¬ģ Wisconsin.

How's Your Economy and Real Estate Eyesight?

This session will test your understanding of the economy heading into 2020 with a series of questions and discussion topics. Does the longest economic recovery on record, which broke the 120-month record in July, continue into 2020, and if so, why? Do tariffs and trade war uncertainty finally kill business confidence and slow the economy to down to less than 2 percent, or even 1 percent, of the GDP? What happens if Congress does not ratify the NAFTA 2.0/USMCA agreement? What are corporate earnings and rail traffic telling us about the health of the economy? And finally, what metrics should you monitor the most? This session explore metrics like rail traffic, small business confidence, and the spread between the two-year and 10-year treasury bond yield.

Adaptive Reuse

What is adaptive reuse? What is driving it, and where is it occurring? What kind of uses are going into empty real estate buildings, and how do you determine feasibility and value? How is adaptive reuse integral to opportunity zones? This session will define, quantify and explain adaptive reuse and connect the dots to its role in opportunity zones as well as outline the impediments such as local zoning and building codes.
