Date: October 1, 2019

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin REALTORS® Association (WRA) awarded the Chairman’s Citation Award to Wisconsin Rapids-area REALTOR® Mike Spranger at the WRA annual convention held in Wisconsin Dells in September. Spranger received the award for his years of leadership as the chairman of the Wisconsin REALTORS® Foundation (WRF).

Spranger began his real estate career in 1981 after receiving his associate degree in real estate from Mid-State Technical College. He and his wife Dawn opened Mike Spranger Real Estate in 1991, which merged into First Weber Group in 2005.

Spranger enjoys fundraising for local charities, has co-chaired a United Way campaign, and serves in a leadership role for the Wisconsin Rapids Elks Lodge. Along with his wife Dawn, he created the Bike for Honor Flight cycling fundraiser, which raises money to fund trips for more than 300 veterans to visit the veteran memorials in Washington, D.C.

Spranger has served on many committees and leadership positions for his local board as well as the WRA. He served as the WRA chairman of the board in 2007-08. In his role as the chairman of the WRF, Spranger was recognized for partnering with Feeding Wisconsin, a statewide network of food banks and food pantries. The multi-year partnership supports the WRF’s goal of helping Wisconsin children in need.

The Chairman’s Citation Award was established by the WRA in 1998. The award recognizes individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the association or to the real estate industry.
