WRA Gives Distinguished Service Award to Cori Lamont

MADISON,
Wis. – The
Wisconsin REALTORS® Association (WRA) awarded the
Distinguished Service Award (DSA) to Cori Lamont at the WRA’s annual convention
in Wisconsin Dells in September. As the senior director of legal and public affairs
for the WRA, Lamont is the primary contact for members and firms regarding
brokerage regulatory and licensing issues; the liaison between the Department
of Safety and Professional Services and the WRA; and is actively involved in
the development and enactment of state laws, policies and forms affecting the
real estate industry.
Lamont regularly
presents real estate seminars and education to real estate licensees and also
serves as a contributing author for Wisconsin
Real Estate Magazine. She collaborates with REALTOR® boards on
forms and practice issues, currently serves on the Real Estate Contractual
Forms Advisory Council and has been a speaker for events at Marquette
University Law School and the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Lamont
received her Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University and Juris Doctor
from Ohio Northern University. She was named the WRA Instructor of the Year in
2005 and 2013.
The DSA was established in 1985 and provides
recognition to REALTORS® or employees of the WRA who have
dedicated many years of leadership and/or service to the WRA. Recipients must
have at least five years of membership or employment and must demonstrate a
high commitment to the association.
