WRA Welcomes New 2019-20 Chairman of the Board

Date: October 1, 2019

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin REALTORS® Association (WRA) installed Steve Beers of Lake Geneva as its new chairman of the board at its annual convention held in Wisconsin Dells in September. Beers will head one of Wisconsin’s largest trade associations, representing over 16,500 real estate brokers, salespeople and affiliates statewide. He succeeds the WRA’s 2018-19 chairman, Jean Stefaniak of Wauwatosa.

Beers has served as president at Keefe Real Estate Inc. in Lake Geneva for more than 25 years. He is familiar with all aspects of operating and overseeing a real estate company. Since beginning his real estate career 40 years ago, Beers has worked with thousands of clients as well as myriad people and entities related to the transactions of homes, commercial businesses and land. He has marketed a wide range of properties, from farms to timber land, seminaries to luxury homes, and even an island.

Beers currently serves on the board for Geneva Lakes Water Safety Patrol, the Fontana Lakefront and Harbor Commission, and Fontana's Board of Review. He was named REALTOR® of the Year by his local Lakes Area REALTORS® Association and has served as the past president of LARA. Governors Doyle and Walker both appointed Beers as chairman of Wisconsin's Real Estate Examining Board. An active member of the WRA for many years, Beers was on the board and executive committee and will be the chairman of the board for the WRA in 2019-20.
