Date: October 1, 2017

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin REALTORS® Association (WRA) recently awarded the Chairman's Citation Award to Rep. Adam Jarchow (R-Balsam Lake) at the WRA annual convention held in Milwaukee last month.

Rep. Jarchow was elected to the state Assembly in 2014 and re-elected in 2016 and serves the 28th Assembly District in northwestern Wisconsin. Rep. Jarchow is the vice chair of the Assembly Committee on Financial Institutions and co-chair of the Joint Review Committee on Criminal Penalties; he also serves on the Assembly Committee on Energy & Utilities and the Assembly Committee on Tourism.

Rep. Jarchow has made private property rights and land use regulation reform his top priorities since his first day in office. Last session, he passed numerous property rights laws, including laws aimed at reforming the state's shoreland zoning regulations as well as protecting property owners from ambiguous zoning regulations and efforts to downzone private property. Last session, Rep. Jarchow had a 100 percent voting record on WRA issues. This session, Rep. Jarchow co-authored the Homeowners Bill of Rights with Sen. Tom Tiffany. Two of the key provisions in this legislation include grandfathering all substandard lots in the state and establishing a reasonable framework for conditional use permits at the local level.  Allen was elected in 2014 as a representative to the Wisconsin State Assembly serving the 97th District, which covers the Waukesha, Genesee and Mukwonago areas.

The Chairman's Citation Award was established by the WRA in 1998. The purpose of the award is to provide recognition to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the association or to the real estate industry.
