WRA Gives Distinguished Service Award to Erik Sjowall

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin REALTORS® Association (WRA) recently awarded the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) to Madison-area REALTOR® Erik Sjowall at the WRA's annual convention in Milwaukee last month. Sjowall began his career in real estate shortly after graduating from the University of St. Thomas-Minnesota in 1994. He joined Edina Realty Home Services as a sales agent in early 1995 and moved to the management team in 2000.

After six years of brokerage management, Sjowall moved with his family to Madison in 2006. Sjowall is now the president of Bunbury & Associates REALTORS®, a family-owned, full-service real estate brokerage serving South Central Wisconsin.

Sjowall continually advocates for the real estate profession and private property rights. He has served on various committees at the local, state and national levels. His service includes serving as the president of the REALTORS® Association of South Central Wisconsin, six-year director of the South Central MLS board, the president of the MLS board in 2012 and the chairman of the board of directors for the WRA in 2016-17.

The DSA was established in 1985 and provides recognition to REALTORS® or employees of the WRA who have dedicated many years of leadership and/or service to the WRA. Recipients must have at least five years of membership or employment and must demonstrate a high commitment to the association.
