WRA Gives Distinguished Service Award to Peter Sveum

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin REALTORS® Association (WRA) recently awarded the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) to Stoughton-area REALTOR® Peter Sveum at the WRA’s annual convention in Wisconsin Dells last month. Sveum, a fourth-generation Stoughton native, began his career in the real estate industry in 1973. Sveum is the president of Coldwell Banker Success in Stoughton and operates the brokerage with Phil Sveum, his business partner and brother.


Sveum is active in various leadership roles in the industry. In addition to his service as the 2017-18 chairman of the board for the WRA, Sveum also sits on the board of directors for the South Central Wisconsin Multiple Listing Service (SCWMLS) and serves on the REALTORS® Association of South Central Wisconsin’s (RASCW) professional standards committee. Sveum’s past leadership roles include serving as chairman of the real estate board for the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing and serving as president for both SCWMLS and RASCW.


Outside of real estate, Sveum is currently involved in leadership roles for the Stoughton Police and Fire Commission, Stoughton Hospital Foundation and the Stoughton Redevelopment Authority. Sveum previously held leadership positions with the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce, Mandt Community Ice Arena and the Stoughton Youth Hockey Association.              


The DSA was established in 1985 and provides recognition to REALTORS® or employees of the WRA who have dedicated many years of leadership and/or service to the WRA. Recipients must have at least five years of membership or employment and must demonstrate a high commitment to the association.
