REALTOR® & Government Day
On April 26, 2023, the WRA held its annual advocacy event, REALTOR® & Government Day (RGD), at the state Capitol in Madison. More than 500 Wisconsin REALTORS® showed up in record numbers, ready to lobby their lawmakers on issues
impacting their business, customers and property rights!
Before going to the Capitol, Wisconsin REALTORS® gathered at the Monona Terrace Convention Center and listened to several speakers discuss current Wisconsin legislative issues that affect real estate. Keynote speakers included WRA President
& CEO Michael Theo, 2023 WRA Chairman Joe Horning and Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers. In addition, the WRA advocacy team prepped attendees for their visits with lawmakers by outlining the issues of the day: workforce housing, the property tax levy freeze,
DSPS customer service improvements, slashing the transfer tax, and sales tax exemptions for Wisconsin Multiple Listing Services.
At the Capitol, Wisconsin REALTORS® briefed more than 100 Wisconsin legislators on the five legislative priorities. After a productive afternoon of lobbying, attendees networked over drinks and hors d’oeuvres at a reception to conclude the
day.
Plus, those who attended and passed an exam earned one hour of CE credit for the 2023-24 real estate biennium.
See you next year
