In the May 2026 Legal Update video about scams, it was mentioned that there are free subscription services that can alert property owner of suspicious activity on their deeds. What are those services and how can property owners sign up?
Property owners may enroll in a free notification service provided by the county that alerts the property owner when a new document is recorded against the property. The service is facilitated by the county, so if the property owner wishes to enroll in the service, the property owner should contact the register of deeds of the county in which the property is located.
