The WRA Launches New LegalTalks Video Series

Do you like instructional videos on topics that have an impact on your business or a transaction you are working on, but get frustrated because the videos are too long and boring? Would you like to access shorter, to-the-point instructional videos on your smartphone? If so, the WRA has created a new information resource just for you.

Over the last several years, the WRA legal team has traveled throughout Wisconsin, giving presentations on a variety of legal topics. During these visits around the state, REALTORS® have made numerous requests to have more information in different formats on cutting-edge legal topics that are relevant in today’s marketplace.

In response, the WRA created LegalTalks, a new video series designed to provide REALTORS® with information on contemporary legal issues in short segments under seven minutes in length. The topics selected for the videos will be determined by you, based on questions received by the Legal Hotline, email requests, and other direct communications you have with the WRA's legal team and staff.

The following is a list of the first several videos that will be posted on the LegalTalks page of the WRA website in the upcoming weeks:

Electronic disclosure (two-part series)

  • Electronic consent
  • Email delivery
Recent changes in landlord/tenant law (six-part series)
  • Disposal of Personal Property
  • Notice of Domestic Abuse Protections
  • Check-In Sheet
  • Residential Rental Contract vs. Residential Lease
  • Nonstandard Rental Provisions
  • Rental Disclosure Form
Inspection contingency (six-part series; currently under construction)

Other topics you’ll likely see in future videos include recent changes to forms, listing protection and the financing contingency.

We hope you find these videos to be both informative and helpful to your business. We encourage you to provide us with feedback so that we can continue to provide you with valuable products and services.
