A career in real estate means working with many unknowns. When will the next lead come in? How much will this listing sell for? How many offers will we receive? Is this the perfect home for my buyer? One unavoidable "unknown" is the exact circumstances you are walking into when you show a home. Personal safety is at the top of everyone's priority list, yet according to the NAR, only 13 percent of REALTORS¬ģ¬†admitted to using a mobile safety app to account for their whereabouts and help keep them secure last year. There are many apps available that help to give you peace of mind, but CurbCall Protect is one of the easiest to use.

CurbCall Protect is a free mobile app that can help ensure your personal safety with ‚ÄĒ literally ‚ÄĒ one touch. Tap the "Start Showing" button when you arrive at your destination. That's it. At that point, each of your designated emergency contacts will receive a text message letting them know that you are at a showing. The message even includes a link to a map to show them your specific location.

If at any time during the showing you feel unsafe, simply tap the red panic button, and an alert will instantly be sent to your emergency contacts. An alert will also be sent if you leave the "safety radius" of your showing location at any time, for example, against your will. This alert will also display a map of your actual location so that you can get help where you need it.

If a showing proceeds and concludes as expected, just tap the "End Showing" button to turn off the app. It really is so easy to give yourself that extra protection and sense of security. CurbCall Protect is available for iOS and Android.
