REALTOR® Relief Efforts in Natural Disasters

The WRA joined dozens of state REALTOR® associations from across the country to support relief efforts in southern Texas after the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey last month. Within days of the storm, the WRA board of directors approved moneys for the National Association of REALTORS®’ (NAR) Disaster Relief Fund. NAR will coordinate with the Texas Association of REALTORS® to direct resources from around the country to provide assistance where it is most needed, to REALTORS® and homeowners alike.

Earlier this year, the Wisconsin REALTORS® Foundation (WRF) also provided financial support for relief efforts in response to a natural disaster when destructive tornadoes ripped through northwestern Wisconsin. The WRF segregates a certain amount of funds raised through voluntary contributions on membership renewal dues forms to aid families and children impacted by natural disasters in Wisconsin.

REALTORS® throughout Wisconsin should be proud helping these families in need. WRF chairman Mike Spranger encourages every member to keep the voluntary $10 contribution to the foundation on your dues statement so REALTOR® relief efforts like these can continue.
