Wisconsin REALTORS® Association Launches Mobile Website and Improved Desktop Web Experience

Date: May 6, 2015

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin REALTORS® Association will unveil its highly anticipated redesigned website in May 2015. The redesign will provide an immersive experience for site users across all platforms and devices, such as smartphones, tablets and desktop computers. Improved mobile navigation is one of the most significant factors of the site redesign: mobile users will no longer have to "pinch" the screen to navigate page content and pages on the website. Every Web page automatically renders to size and proportion based on the device and platform used.

The redesign also includes a better-performing search function. In a recent focus group, participants noted how their quest for information on www.wra.org begins at the search box, and they expect the search to be easy and mindful enough to point them in the right direction. The new search functionality provides results as the user is typing, first highlighting specific items in the navigation menu, then highlighting matching items in sections and landing pages.

The most dramatic visual change of the website redesign is the elimination of the secondary navigation menu on the left pane. In the redesigned version of the website, all navigation points are housed in one place to eliminate scatter and provide fewer clicks for the user. The redesigned website is constructed to allow visitors to make fewer clicks to find the desired content. For example, the On Demand Player for continuing education is the highest-visited area on the site. Within in the existing site, the player was three to five clicks from the home page. Under the new design, though, a visitor can launch their education immediately from the home page in one click.

“We are thrilled to be delivering our most significant upgrade to the WRA website since its re-launch in 2011,” explains Rob Uhrina, VP, Marketing and Communications. “With hundreds of available resources, ranging from videos to publications, legal content and the state’s largest referral database, we wanted to make the redesign an immersive experience for everyone, on any device. We expect the benefit to be immediate and of great impact to all website visitors.”
