AB 543, now 2025 Wisconsin Act 108, successfully made it through the legislative process, from introduction to passage in both chambers and final approval by the governor. This important update ensures that Multiple Listing Services (MLS) subscriptions remain exempt from sales tax, providing clarity and protecting REALTORS® from unnecessary added costs.
While this may sound like a technical correction, its impact is simple and significant. The MLS is one of the most essential tools REALTORS® use every day for marketing properties, keeping transactions moving efficiently, and serving buyers and sellers.
By clarifying the tax treatment of MLS subscriptions, this new law helps preserve affordability for members and supports the tools needed to do business across Wisconsin.
