Important Update About Your WRA Pre-License Course

Featured in WREM November 2026 Issue

Wisconsin real estate law and state-approved forms are changing on January 1, 2027. To reflect these changes and help you prepare for the licensing exam, WRA is updating its Salesperson Pre-License and Broker Pre-License course. The updated course will replace the current version on January 1, 2027.

What does this mean for you?

If you are still working on your course, you have two options:

  • Finish by December 31, 2026. Complete all course requirements by December 31 to earn your certificate of completion.

  • Switch to the updated course. If you do not finish by December 31, WRA will provide a link to enroll in the updated course at no additional charge. Your progress will not transfer, so you will need to start over. You will have six months from your new enrollment date to complete the course.

If you have already completed your course:

Your completion remains valid, and you do not need to retake the course. However, because the licensing exam will reflect the changes to Wisconsin law and forms, WRA will provide six months of free access to the updated course so you can review the new material before taking the exam.

What happens next?

The current course will no longer be available after December 31, 2026. In January, WRA will send instructions for accessing the updated course and information about what to review before taking the licensing exam.
